From July 7 to 11, 2025, a new edition of the summer school will be held in Dakar, Senegal, as part of the "Development Methodologies" Chair led by Abhijit Banerjee and Esther Duflo.
Starting July 7, around a hundred researchers and project leaders will gather in Dakar, on the campus of the African Center for Advanced Studies in Management (CESAG), to enhance their knowledge of impact evaluations. This summer school, organized in partnership with the French Development Agency, Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL), and CESAG, aims to provide methodological tools and best practices in impact evaluation for development actors.
African researchers wishing to strengthen their knowledge and practice in impact evaluation methodologies are invited to apply for the academic module. Candidates will be selected based on several criteria, including:
The program will be delivered by researchers from the J-PAL network who will lead theoretical sessions on topics such as impact evaluation designs, sample size and power calculations, as well as "Work in Progress" workshops to support participants in their personal research projects. If you are interested in this training, please fill out this application form by Friday, February 14, 2025. You can also ask questions about the academic module at the following address: dakar2025@povertyactionlab.org.
